The monitoring centre has the
capability to receive alarms in all of the current dialler
formats, Securitel Network, GSM Mobile backup units and the
ADPRO FastScan remote CCTV system.
All incoming and outgoing phone calls are recorded on a Digital
voice recorder.
AlarmNet Monitoring is currently providing alarm monitoring
services to many thousands of clients, ranging from very simple
domestic systems with only two detectors to large commercial
systems with over three hundred detectors, reporting via forty
five partitions (areas) via the Direct Wireless, Securitel Network and as a
dialler, with GSM backup.
The DirectWireless network is a Virtual Private Network operating within the Optus GSM/GPRS network which is dedicated exclusively to high security alarm monitoring. In conjunction with the DirectWireless network, the DirectWireless Guardcell is designed to facilitate wireless alarm monitoring to AS2201.5-1992 Class 4 and 5 for alarm transmission services.

Redundancy
AlarmNet
Monitoring has installed four, 4 line SCSI PSTN/GSM Central
Station Redundancy Receivers so that in the event of accidental
or deliberate disruption to the 16 incoming telephone lines
to the FE-100 alarm receivers, client generated alarms will
be received and actioned. This equipment is only available
to selected Monitoring Centres, of which AlarmNet Monitoring
is the first in SA.
For this service to be provided the bureau 1300/1345 numbers
will need to be routed through the dedicated OPTUS network
established by SCSI and AlarmNet Monitoring.
1300/1345 is diverted to the first number in the PSTN rotary
group. If the PSTN rotary group is BUSY, NOT AVAILABLE or
NO ANSWER for more than two rings the 1300/1345 network will
seamlessly switch the alarm call to the first GSM number in
the GSM rotary group. The SCSI 19” rack mount receiver
comes with 4 x GSM line cards and connects directly to the
PSTN alarm receiver. The GSM rotary group can be expanded
to 60 GSM incoming lines.
